Anyway, I wouldn't be able to breathe at all if it wasn't for Dar's magical Salsa El Pain. It's made of pineapple and mango and papaya and tangerine and cilantro and red onion and three kinds of scary scary hot peppers; it is made of deliciousness and BURNING. I took one lick of the spoon and I could breathe again. But now my nose is running like a leaky faucet, so I'm not sure if that's better.
Chris and Dar and I went to see Star Trek today. IT WAS SO FREAKING AMAZING. GO SEE IT. Don't take my word for it. Take the 100% score it got on Rotten Tomatoes. Take the rave review in the New York Times. ...Okay also take my word for it. IT'S SO GOOD. ...Makes me proud to be a Trekkie~! *sniff* Lol, the first thing I did when I got out was text my dad and brother (Trek is a family tradition). I hope they both go see it soon.
So that was fun. Also we had gelatto, cuz it took forever to find parking, so we saw the next showing after the one we'd meant to see, and had to kill time by consuming frozen treats. Darn. Also THEY'RE MAKING A G.I. JOE MOVIE. AND CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON IS COBRA. My childhood is so happy right now.
Tomorrow I'm gonna go see the Wolverine movie! :DD ...I dunno when I'm gonna have time to see Earth. Really wanna though. Maybe I'll sneak off by myself and see it on Monday.
I meant to do this, like, two and a half weeks ago.
Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.
Missed this the first time it came around, for whatever reason. Ah well, doing it now. Allow me to elaborate on the stuff evilhippo (Carrie) associates with me.
That green jello dessert with the celery in... Lol, a little bit of fail there, or perhaps color blindness... the jello is red. This jello salad recipe is a Thanksgiving tradition in my family, and something passed down from my dad's mom. It involves cranberry sauce, orange jello, crushed pineapple, diced celery, and orange zest. It's DELICIOUS. I made it when I visited Chicago for Thanksgiving; it was the first time I'd made it by myself (not that it's hard), and the first time I'd had it since going away to college.
Mountainous, naturey places... Indeed, I am all about mountainous, naturey places. ...I'm trying to think of which mountainous, naturey places I may have discussed with Carrie... perhaps news of me camping out on Mauna Kea with palila birds, or hiking through the Julian Alps in Slovenia filtered through by way of Dar... in any case, it is true that hiking through mountainous, naturey places is one of my favorite things to do, EVER, and if I can possibly get away with making a career out of it, I will.
Cake and coffee together (especially when eaten after claiming to want pie and tea)... Lol, an omg_alchemist joke. She played Maes Hughes, I played Clara (OOC!Psiren). Our characters were friends due to both of them being waaaaaay to chatty for their own good. Carrie is a crazy evil mistress of plotting, so she somehow managed to kill off Hughes, create a homunculus of him, bring back Hughes as a ghost, get Hughes' ghost stuck in the Hughesmunculus' body, and have the two of them battle it out for control of the body. So Hughes in Hughesmunculus' body needed a place to stay, and Clara being too nice for her own good was reluctantly willing to let the hated Hughesmunculus stay with her. It was quickly revealed that she was talking to the previously-dead and greatly-missed Hughes, and after some excitement Hughes suggested that they catch up on things over some pie and tea in a cafe. So of course when they get to the cafe, Hughes promptly orders coffee and cake. Which I thought was kind of funny. It became the cutline for the log. ...You probably had to be there. ^_^;;
Clara Smith, and anyone fitting her character type... As previously mentioned, I played Clara Mary Smith in omg_alchemist and omg_fma. Alla y'all either know her, or have heard about her in this journal. She was a large part of my brain for a couple of years, and is still very dear to me. ...She is certainly not me, although we have a couple of things in common. By "anyone fitting her character type", I presume she means Catholic, female, prudish, nice, generous, talkative, cheerful, caring, loving, polite, innocent, and/or extremely talented in domestic activities such as cooking and cleaning. Jesse Hajicek fans, you know Sister Magda from the first Kastor book? Yeah. She's a lot like Clara, only geekier.
Taekwon-Do... I am a first-degree black belt in taekwon-do. I started doing it my freshman year of college. I still do it here in the Land of Port, although not as frequently as I would like/should. Like The RP, it has brought me together with some truly fantastic people, some of whom are on this flist, and has given me a lot of great memories. I can't specifically remember talking about it much with Carrie, but I suppose it's like the mountainous, naturey places... it's something about me/a part of my life that you're just going to hear about at some point, if you know me at all. I've certainly mentioned it in this journal enough times.
...Margot & The Nuclear So And So's concert on Friday~! AWW HELLS YEAH~!!
