1. Where and when did you start RPing?
I started at omg_alchemist in September of 2005. ...Holy shit that's a while ago now!
2. Do you RP anywhere other than LJ?
I have, but not frequently. Did a one-shot DnD, a private off-the-top-of-our-heads one-shot with Mark, and then there was Fluffy's one-shot... DO THE THING!!
3. Do you play in any public games?
Definitely, and almost exclusively.
4. Do you prefer first-person comment spam or prose logging?
...You know, it's weird, I really don't have a preference. I started with script-style and liked it a lot, then slipped quite naturally into prose... I'm a writer, so my brain definitely enjoys that. I do both quite happily.
5. What was the first character you ever played?
GLUTTONY~!! *hugs my baby* It started as a joke. And then can_i_eat_it was born, and I'm so happy.
6. Who's your favorite character to play now and why?
Robin, boy_wondering. Because... he's my current character. Dunno, I enjoy revisiting old characters, but I really only have one or two in my head at any one time, and I play them pretty much exclusively (although you know I love my NPCs!). I chose Robin, did the research, and now he's my baby. I love his teenage angst, his Bat angst, how much of a dork he is, how badass he is, how good he is, how much of a jerk he can be. He's just fabulous all around.
7. What's the longest you've ever consistently played one character?
Consistently? I played Clara Mary Smith (songless_psiren) from June 3, 2006 to September 20, 2008... that's two years and some months. *hugs this baby too* Current dressing room stuff doesn't count.
8. What's your biggest RP pet peeve?
Do I have to pick just one? ...Yeah, metagaming's pretty damn annoying.
9. Do you read RP secrets and the RP anon meme?
I have, on very rare occasions. They occasionally have hilarious things. Mostly it's just stupid wank though.
10. If you've played in public before, do you prefer community based or journal based games?
Dunno... I think I prefer journal-based, as that's what I'm familiar with. But here I go, starting up a community-based game.
11. Would you rather play with someone who's very very IC but a mediocre writer or someone who isn't always IC (but not terrible) and a great writer?
HOW ABOUT NEITHER. *is a snob* ...I dunno, how mediocre? And how "not terrible"? ...I think probably I'll go for the IC player... I'd like to think I only dislike bad writing... then again I suspect my standards are higher than most. Both of these guys would probably make me twitch a little, but I'd also probably enjoy both of them. ...Actually, you know what, forget it, it's impossible for me to answer this question.
12. Do you have a "RP partner"?
Nope. I have RP friends... they're my friends in RL, too. HI GUYS.
13. Do you ever stalk any casts, games, or players? Who?
Nope, not really. My RP is very character-oriented. I've done brief stalking of characters I've interacted with and enjoyed, and I always lurk in a game before apping, but that's it.
14. In your opinion, which part of an app is the most difficult/annoying?
Uh... all of it? I actually enjoy it, once I get around to it. It's just work.
15. Are you one of those people who has to customize their character's journal layout and userinfo?
Yes. I don't get very fancy, but. I like to match the journal colors. And recently I've been putting pictures on the Profile page. And coming up with titles and subtitles and interests... yeah, it's fun.
16. What was your first game?
OMG! Fullmetal Alchemist (omg_alchemist and omg_fma). ...This question is redundant.
17. Are there any canons you avoid tagging characters from?
Not... really? I guess there are canons that annoy me, but again, it has more to do with the character, and how the mun plays them.
18. Most memorable scene in any thread?
Any of OMG's big group logs/threads. Hughes and The Maze. The Attack of the Space Crabs. The Apocalypse. ...OMG was good times, man. Good times.
19. Do you RP sex?
...I have. Twice. SATAN/EROS, OTP!! Um, never with my main characters, mostly because of who they are. In the case of Gluttony, THANK GOD. Clara was a theoretical possibility, but ONLY IF SHE WERE MARRIED FIRST. *clutches her protectively* ...Faye, on the other hand, would've been totally happy with a one-night stand, if we could've arranged one. Because Econtra was just that boring.
20. Do you play more males or females?
...As far as I can tell, I play it pretty much split down the middle. Gender doesn't seem to be a determining factor in who I consider to be an interesting character.
21. What *won't* you RP?
Um... not much? I guess I'm extremely reluctant to play a character I'm not feeling. Don't try to get me to play a character just because you want one. It won't happen. I have to like them, feel capable of playing them... and want to play them, and this happens infrequently. ...NPCs don't count. ...I also won't play ten gazillion main characters at once. I don't have the time, or the headspace. I'm pretty devoted to one or two at a time.
22. Dressing rooms: yes or no?
You know, I never really saw the point. I definitely prefer something with a bit more substance. The one dressing room I'm in is a special case, and the exception to the rule. It's really just a private playground.
23. Ever RPed a pairing?
Not really. ...Not for lack of trying, *cough cough*. ...I mean, I don't go out of my way to find a canon pairing to jump into. For me, it has to be canon and/or develop naturally in the game, and so far that just hasn't happened, but I've been open to the possibility. The Darren thing was planned, but, well, that didn't really happen anyway. ...Just with circumstances... the limited number of characters I've played, where I've played, who I've played with... it's never come together that way. *shrug* ...Again, I'd be tickled if something occurred with Robin, because I think it would be fun, and really cute. But I'm not gonna force it.
24. Favorite place to play: musebox, open posts, public games, private games?
Public games, almost exclusively. My headspace gets really involved in my characters' developing personal canons, and these are the places to do that. Everything else is just practice, or messing around for some amusement.
25. Talking RP with someone else who plays your character: fun or awkward?
Um... never really done it. I'm not sure awkward would be the word, but I suspect it would be problematic. I'm very serious about characterization... I do a lot of research, and I always fall in love with the character a little bit. I know I'm not perfect. And canon can be vague, and everyone's always going to have different interpretations, emphasize different things, put a little bit of themselves into the character... but I have pretty intense ideas about characterization sometimes. I already know I strongly disagree with Chris about certain things to do with what Faye is like. So. I suspect it could lead to arguments.
